Back-Links Build Businesses
Back-Links,
like it or not, you need them if you want your website or sales page to
appear on page one of the search engines and there are a great many
different methods of getting them.
This article reviews various methods of gaining Free back-links. (Yes,
you can actually buy back-links, but we are looking at free methods
only)
First of all, let us look at what a back-link actually is.
Backlink - this is a link coming from another website back to your own, also called inward or inbound links.
Some Search Engines such as google use back-links as an indicator of
the popularity of a site and so the more back-links you have, the more
popular your website is deemed to be.
The greater the popularity of your website, the higher the position it will appear within search results.
It is also worth noting, that a back-link from a website with a high page ranking carries even more credibility.
Equally, it is also known that back-links from high authority websites
such as .gov or .edu carry additional credibility and search engines
identify more readily, websites with links pointing to them from these
highly acclaimed sites.
How do you get back-links?
The following are perhaps the most common methods of achieving back-links to your website.
Blog Commenting:
By
searching for blog’s which offer do –follow links you can
write a comment about a post or article on a particular blog.
Most blog owners allow you to attach a link to your website within your comment, thus creating a single back-link.
The downside of blog commenting, is that it is time consuming trying to
find blogs to comment on relating to your website niche and again, time
consuming when writing 100’s of different comments.
Another disadvantage to this form of back-link building is that most
blog owners nowadays monitor the comments to ensure they are meaningful
to the article or post on which it was made.
As a result, there is no guarantee that your comment will be approved and you may well not receive a back-link.
Article marketing:
Writing
an informative article which leaves the reader wanting to know more
about the subject is another popular way of getting back-links to your
website.
Once you have the article readers attention you can direct them via
your article resource box or signature file, to your website by placing
a link to it.
This is your back-link once the article is published on an article directory.
However, article marketing too has its downside, when it comes to getting back-links.
Yes you will get a back-link from every directory where your article is
published, but unless your article has outstanding content and other
publishers take your article and publish it on their websites, it tends
to end there.
RSS Feeds.
RSS (really simple syndication) feeds is rising in popularity as a means to getting back-links to your website.
Used mainly by blog owners, RSS feeds are made available to readers who
if they find your content of interest, can subscribe to your future
articles or posts within an RSS reader.
When setting up your RSS feed, you can elect either to have a snippet
of your article appear in the RSS reader, thereby requiring the person
reading it to visit your site for the full article, or you can set the
RSS reader to display the full article.
Using the full article setting, allows other website owners to take
your content and put it on their website – this should be with a
back-link to your website (but caution should be exercised when using
this setting).
As with article directories, there are RSS directories.
When your website RSS feed appears in these directories you will gain a back-link.
There are automated programs which will submit your RSS feed automatically to hundreds of different directories.
One of my favoured methods of getting back-links is The Free Traffic System.
I
use this system every time I launch a new website to get it to page one
of the search engines in the shortest possible time frame.
You may already have heard of it or indeed, you may already be a member. But do you know how to get the most from the system?
As its name suggests, The Free Traffic System is free and with absolutely no catches.
There are various ways in which you can get back-links using the FTS:
- Submit an article: - Minimum 60 back-links (free member) 120 back-links ( pro-member)
- Submit a blog to allow FTS users to post their articles to:- Bonus back-links
- Refer others:- Bonus back-links
Even if you don’t like to or can’t write articles, the FTS can build you back-links and earn you money.
The simplest way of achieving free back-links using the FTS, is to set
up a self hosted wordpress blog in any niche you like, monetize it with
Adsense, make a few posts yourself and then submit your blog to FTS for
inclusion into the members area.
When members publish their articles on your blog, you will gain free bonus back-links.
Not only will you gain these all important back-links to your website,
but you will also get traffic to your new blog and start to see a small
income from Adsense.
Once you have set it all up, you can pretty much forget it, as new content will be added automatically from FTS.
Your only interest in this blog should be to get the back-links to your website and earning from Adsense.
It is worth mentioning, that by upgrading within The Free Traffic System, you will gain double the normal free back-links.
I hope this article has been of some interest and has helped you understand a bit more about back-links.
Wishing you success.
